Victoria gave the Belgian national hockey team a send-off they will surely remember as the Vikings cruised to a 4-2 win to close off the two-match practice series. In front of a decent crowd but oppressive heat that reached an extraordinary 42 degrees during the match, the home side played with confidence and poise which Belgium was unable to overcome.
The Vikings were impressive and look the business heading into the 2009 Australian Hockey League (AHL). Meanwhile Belgium flew to Sydney this morning and will play two other practice matches before flying to Canberra for a three-match series against the Kookaburras.
